Hills & Dales General Hospital will be hosting a ground-breaking event Friday at 12:30 p.m., after exceeding their $5 million goal of funding for a major expansion and renovation. Last summer, hospital officials announced the project and began raising funds.
Response has been overwhelming, according to hospital officials, including a $75,000 pledge over five years. The hospital has already raised over $500,000 dollars.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved a $5.3 million dollar loan to help with the $6 million project that is expected to take about 18 months to complete.
