The Peck Pirates boys’ team returned to action Tuesday night when they took on Algonac in one of two opening round games. The Pirates rolled to a 51-43 win and advances to the title game tonight, against host Cardinal Mooney. In the other semi-final contest, Cardinal Mooney took care of Memphis, 71-60. The consolation game between Algonac and Memphis will tip-off at 6 pm tonight while Peck will collide with Mooney shortly after the completion of the first game.
In girls play at the Cardinal Mooney tournament, L’Anse Creuse whipped Algonac 45-28 and Cardinal Mooney slipped past Memphis 47 – 31. Their consolation and championship games will be played this afternoon.
In games scheduled for tonight: Bad Axe travels to Ubly for a boys/girls doubleheader with the girls starting at 6 p.m. It’s another doubleheader in Sandusky as Deckerville pays a visit to the Redskins at the Mark S. Hund gymnasium The girls will tip-off at 6 p.m. and the boys will follow around 7:30 p.m.
At the Harry Moore Classic in Capac today, the girls kick things off when Kingston takes on Capac and North Branch tangles with Brown City. The boys take to the court at 6 p.m. when North Branch and Brown City kick things off while in the second game, Kingston battles the host Chiefs. The boys games can be heard on 97.7 WTGV when Cliff Amey and John Presnell do their pre-game show at 5:30 p.m.
Thursday, in Capac, the girls consolation finals are set for 2 p.m. and the title game will be played at 3:30 p.m. WTGV will be back on the air with their pre-game show at 5:30 p.,m. when Cliff Amey and Dave Fredrick cover the boys’ consolation and championship games.
