Deckerville man charged with misdemeanor in teen’s death

(DECKERVILLE) — The Deckerville man involved in a fatal crash that took the life of a 19-year Cros-Lex student faces a year in jail and or a fine. 55-year old Charles Renshaw was arraigned on one count of moving violation causing death Wednesday in Sanilac County. The victim in the crash, Brandon Regan, was a senior at Cros-Lex attending the district’s Secondary Alternative Education Program at the time of his death. The crash took place on May 6 along Galbraith Line Road in Worth Township. Deputies say Renshaw was traveling east on Galbraith Line and when he attempted to turn left onto St. Clair Road, he turned into the path of the Kawasaki dirt bike Regan was driving. Renshaw was arrested at the scene and later released on a PR bond. His pretrial hearing is scheduled for September 19.
