(LAPEER COUNTY) — Several stolen UTV’s were recovered last week by the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Department. While monitoring traffic Thursday morning before 2 a.m., a deputy noticed three UTV’s traveling on Clifford Road near Clifford. During the stop, it was discovered that all three vehicles had been stolen from Ray C’s Extreme on Imlay City Road in Lapeer. Three individuals, ages 16 and 17 from Lapeer, were taken into custody. The two 2016 Can AM’s and one Kawasaki had a combined value of $51,000. The vehicles had been taken from outside the business that was secured by fencing, which was cut to gain entry. A fourth UTV was recovered last Thursday from a residence in Silverwood. The 2008 Polaris Gator was taken from Nolan Farms on N. Lapeer Road and reported stolen to the Michigan State Police Lapeer Post the day before. The fence surrounding property on Nolan Farms had been damaged by a tractor the night the gator was stolen. A joint investigation with Lapeer Police and the Michigan State Police is taking place and formal criminal charges are pending.
