LANSING, Mich. (AP) – Gov. Rick Snyder says his visit to a massive industrial trade show in Germany helped highlight Michigan as a site of cutting-edge manufacturing technologies. The governor says he made 34 stops at Hannover Messe, the world’s largest industrial technology trade fair. It gave him a chance to tout Detroit’s turnaround and to highlight Michigan research facilities specializing in advanced composites and lightweight materials for automobiles and planes. Snyder told The Associated Press in a phone interview from Germany on Tuesday that European companies view the U.S. as a “very positive” place to sell products given issues in South America and slowing economic growth in China. He next visits Switzerland, Italy and the Netherlands on the weeklong trade mission.
