(AREA) — Many Michigan roads are icy and snow-covered after a storm brought up to a foot or more of snow in places Tuesday. The National Weather Service says that more than 12 inches was reported in many Sanilac County communities including Peck, Marlette, Deckerville, and Sandusky with between 12-14 inches in some places along the lakeshore. In Huron County, Pigeon recorded 12 inches of snow, while Bad Axe saw 13 and Harbor Beach residents are digging out from 14 inches of new snow. North Branch recorded 9 inches of snow. Heavy snow was also reported in the Lansing area and in western Michigan, Grand Rapids saw more than 6 inches.
