Coldplay, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga perform at Super Bowl 50

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) – The Super Bowl halftime show featured Coldplay, Beyonce’ and Bruno Mars, but it was really about 50 years of halftime shows. Coldplay’s Chris Martin opened the show singing on the turf with fans running past him. Among the songs Coldplay performed were “Paradise,” “Adventure of a Lifetime” and “Fix You.” Bruno Mars kicked it up with “Uptown Funk.” Beyonce’ performed “Formation,” a song she had only released the day before. The show gave a nod to previous halftime performers like Bruce Springsteen, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Prince and U2. It ended with a singalong of Coldplay’s song “Up and Up.” Before the game, Lady Gaga sang the national anthem and she was dressed for the occasion. She wore a red glittery pantsuit with matching eye shadow, red, white and blue shoes and blue fingernails.
