Sanilac County Historic Society welcomes Neil Woodward

The Musuem invites the Community to Neil Woodward ` Mchigan’s Troubadour in concert.

The Sanilac County Historical Society (SCHS) invites the community to a special concert by Neil Woodward on April 26, 2020 at 3 pm.  Neil Woodward’s musical performances bring to life the Michigan Experience for Great Lakes audiences.  Come enjoy “Stories of Michigan Folks” a festival of songs and musical sounds with voice, fiddle, banjo, dulcimer, concertina, guitar, harmonica, mandolin, whistle and more.

Songs from Superior to Erie, celebrating lumberjacks, miners, sailors, auto workers, farmers, teachers, railroaders, hobos, mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, dogs and cats.  Thumb audiences especially enjoy Woodward’s original song “The Great Fire of 1881”.

Neil Woodward is the recipient of Michigan States University’s  “Michigan Traditional Arts 2018 Heritage” Award for leadership and artistry in the folk music sphere in the state of Michigan.  The State of Michigan Legislature officially designated Neil “Michigan’s Troubadour” in recognition of his life-long commitment to preservation of  Great Lakes folk music and culture.

IMPORTANT TICKET INFO: Guests will need to print tickets ad bring to the event.  Sanilac County Historical Society members will be admitted free and guests will be charged $10 at the door.
