“I Spy” Halloween Window at the Museum

October 16, 2020 - November 1, 2020

The Museum invites kids (of all ages) to come have some safe, social distanced, Halloween fun!  Can you find 28 pumpkins? A black cat? How about a bedpan or a hair wreath? You can search for all these items and more at the “I Spy” History/Halloween Window at the Sanilac County Historic Village and Museum.

Museum administrator, Dawn Malek, tells us “We’ve had many calls and inquiries lately asking about our annual Haunted Village events.  I really got tired of having to disappoint so many families by telling them the events were cancelled due to COVID.  So in an effort to find a new, safe way to celebrate the season with the community, we came up with the idea of an “I Spy” History/Halloween Window.  Malek goes on to say, “Do you remember the “I Spy Books”?  Where you’d search a list of items?  Well, instead of a page in a book, we’ve created a window, chock full of items, some historical and some Halloween related.

The “I Spy” Window is located inside the large picture window of the General Store at the Museum.  It will be open both day and night, 7 days a week, until at least November 1st.  The list of items can be hanging on the General store door and also on the Museum’s Facebook event page at https://www.facebook.com/events/268736749492458

TIPS FOR YOUR BEST “I SPY” WINDOW EXPERIENCE:

Come in the evening if possible.  It’s super spooky! Bring a flashlight!

Email the Museum at schsshirley@gmail.com for a printable items list.

Have FUN! If you enjoy the “I Spy” Window, the Museum hopes you’ll leave a few dollars in the donation box!
