Each year, the entire first floor in the Loop-Harrison Mansion is decorated from top to bottom by creative volunteers in preparation for their holiday events.  Do you love the holidays?  Do you have a knack for decorating?  Then we NEED you!  Get in the holiday spirit by decking the halls of the mansion.  Join in the fun and help trim the trees, cut greens, decorate the staircase, and much more.

Museum Director, Dawn Malek tells us, “Volunteers can “shop” through tote after tote of Christmas decorations in our basement.  We have a wide variety of beautiful decorations and you can choose whatever you like.  There is a lot of room for creativity here!

The museum has 5 days set aside for decorating: November 7, 8, 13 ,14, and 15th from 11 am through 3 pm.  Volunteers should feel free to drop in anytime during those days and times.  Along with decorators, the museum also needs some muscle to bring the totes up from the basement and reach higher spots!

Once the Mansion is decorated the community will have two opportunities to see it in all it’s holiday splendor.  the annual Holiday Open House, a free event that includes live music, Christmas Caroling, and a lovely cookie buffet, will be held on November 30th from 6-8:30 pm.  On December 1st they will be offering $5 self guided tours of the mansion.
