Suspects in Watertown Party Store Robbery due back in court January 2

(WATERTOWN) -- The two suspects accused in the armed robbery of the Depot Party Store in Watertown will be back in court after the first of the year. The robbery took place during the evening hours October 26 with the suspects getting away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Sanilac County Sheriff's deputies and local authorities were able to work on tips from the public and apprehend 31-year old Howard Wiggins of Detroit. His girlfriend, 30-year old Cassandra Kelly of Peck, was arraigned December 11 on an armed robbery charge for her role in the heist. Kelly remains free on a $2,500 personal bond. Wiggins, who remains jailed on a $500,000 bond, has been charged with armed robbery, felony firearms and felon in possession of firearms. He is also being held on a parole violation. Both Kelly and Wiggins are scheduled to appear for a pre-exam conference on Wednesday, January 2 at 10 a.m. Their preliminary exam are tentatively set for January 9 at 1:30 p.m.
