Sandusky's Country Christmas Weekend enjoyed by all!

(SANDUSKY) -- Thousands of people lined the streets of Sandusky on Saturday evening to view the 19th annual Country Christmas Lighted Farm Implement parade and they enjoyed every minute of it. The quality of the entries was outstanding and the real meaning of Christmas was displayed throughout the parade, as there were many religious entries that caught the judges' eyes. Grand Champion honors went to Countryside Free Methodist Church for their float titled "Christmas Around the World." The Mayor's Award was presented to Heritage United Methodist Church, while the Religious Division was won by the Sandusky Full Gospel Church. The Civil Air Patrol and Sandusky Flying Club were winners in the Service Non-Profit category and Stoutenberg Farms took top honors in the Privately Owned Modern Farm Equipment Division. Thumb Towing and Marks Towing were presented with the Non-Farm Small Trophy and O'Reilly Auto Parts was tops in the Non-Farm Large Division. Farm Depot of Caro was named first in the Agriculture Equipment Dealers category, while Don Eagle Farms had the best Antique Farm Equipment entry. The Sandusky Fire Department was judged the best in the Fire Truck Division. The parade, sponsored the Sandusky Chamber of Commerce, capped off a week in which there were many holiday activities throughout the community.

During the Fruit Cake Toss Contest Saturday, Team Walmart took top honors with 1,221 feet. Second place went to Team Sandusky Fire Department with 884 feet, third place went to Team Graff Chevrolet Buick with 717 feet and Team O'Reily's got fourth place with 475 feet.

In the Home Decorating Contest, Rick and Donna Cook were the winners with the DQ Grill and Chill taking top honors in the Business Decorating Category.
