(SANILAC COUNTY) -- The CMH Players will present the play "It's a Wonderful Life" at the Firebird Theater in Sandusky on Thursday, November 29. Director Bryan Day of Port Huron says the cast is taking an American movie classic and presenting it in a way that many people haven't seen it. The play, by James Rogers, is based on the famous film directed by Frank Capra and starring Jimmy Stewart as George Bailey and Donna Reed as his wife Mary. The CMH Players is a theater project of the community mental health agencies in Sanilac, St. Clair and Lapeer counties. According to Jim Johnson, Executive Director of Sanilac County Community Mental Health, one of the main goals of the theater program is helping people build pathways to recovery by participating in the arts. Performances November 29 will be held at Noon and 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased ahead by calling Debbie at Sanilac County Community Mental Health at 810-583-0326. Tickets will also be available at the door. Individuals who receive community mental health services may attend free of charge.
