Suspect in armed robbery at Watertown Depot party store still at large

(WATERTOWN TOWNSHIP) -- The Watertown Depot party store at 2734 S. Sandusky Road was robbed at gunpoint Friday evening shortly before 8:30 p.m. Sanilac County Sheriff's deputies say the clerk called 9-1-1 after the heist and informed them that the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and personal checks. The suspect was described as an african american man, about 5'6" to 5'8" in height with a medium to husky build. He was wearing a black ski mask and black hoody at the time of the robbery. Authorities say the suspect entered the store and brandished the handgun. He then fled on foot. It is believed that a second person involved used a grey colored SUV or Crossover type vehicle to help the suspect flee. The second person was described as a heavy set white woman in her 30's with sandy colored hair. No one was injured in the heist. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact the Sanilac County Sheriff's Office at 810-648-2000. Deputies were assisted by Sandusky Police Department, Peck Police Department and the Michigan State Police during the investigation.
