State Police Collect Nearly 700 Pounds of Prescription Drugs on National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

(AREA) -- The Michigan State Police collected 698 pounds of prescription drugs on the semi-annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day held Saturday, September 29. The MSP partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration and other local law enforcement agencies, providing a venue for citizens to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs. All 29 Michigan State Police posts participated. Locally, the Caro Post collected 21 pounds of prescription pills and the Lapeer Post collected 18 pounds.
