After a six year hiatus, the Sanilac County Prevention Network and their partner organizations are proud to announce that they’re bringing Project Connect – Neighbors Helping Neighbors back to Sanilac County.

The free event will take place on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 10am-2pm at the Sanilac County Fairgrounds, located at 210 N. Dawson Street, Sandusky.

This event hopes to connect anyone in need of assistance with food, coats, personal care items, access to SNAP benefits, assistance with unemployment filing, resume writing/interview coaching, and housing resources, including consultation on housing rights. In addition, there will be organizations in attendance to assist veterans, early childhood, and older adults. Educational sessions related to finances and budgeting will be held as well.

There will be a free lunch and a cooking demonstration, as well as lots of free giveaways and door prizes. McKenzie Health Systems will be on hand to offer wellness checks and the Sanilac County Health Department will be offering flu and pneumonia vaccinations. Please bring your health insurance card if you have one. However, services are available for free for those without insurance as well.

Transportation is available for free, but you’ll need to call 1-810-648-9766 the day before to schedule.
