Civil War Days at the Sanilac County Historic Village & Museum

Port Sanilac, MI –   No battle during the American Civil War was ever fought in Port Sanilac. But the Civil War reenactors will do their best to bring the past to life during the Civil War Days event at the Sanilac County Historic Village & Museum on August 4 and 5 from 10am – 5pm.

Presented in conjunction with the 21st Michigan reenactors, the Museum will offer the best Civil War reenactment in the Thumb, with soldiers from North and South, civilians, and even a few famous faces.

The event features drills, battles, and skirmishes by the Civil War reenactors. What could be more exciting than cannons blasting and bullets flying? Bring the family to learn and experience the living history of 1861!

In addition to reenactors, the entire Historic Village and Museum will be open with docents.

Prices are as follows:

Adults: $8

Children 6-12 years old: $5

5 and under: Free

* Doc Pawlaczyk’s Medicine Man Show, on Sunday at 1pm. This family-friendly interactive show is a mix of historical fun, magic, music, comedy, audience participation, puppetry, ventriloquism, and more!

* LiL”H” Carriage Company LLC will be offering horse & carriage rides from noon – 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

Two and under: Free

* Tours of the Mansion will be offered on Saturday and Sunday at noon and 3pm.

Adults: $8

One child free with each paying adult
