31st Annual Indian Heritage Day

The 31st Annual Heritage Day is Sat, Sept. 29th, at the Reid Music Hall and Museum at 4028 Ruth Rd. 1 mile north of Deckerville. This year will feature Indian beaded jewelry, as well as artifacts and ect. Our Indian pot luck luncheon is at 12:00 followed by talks by John Kennedy of Port Huron, a full blooded Oneida Indian. John is responsible for the memorial stone recently placed at Edison Parkway, honoring the tribes that fishes and camped there. Bill Moskua of Croswell will show and talk about Artifacts, what they’re made of, how they were made, and how they were used. The Western Indian School and missions will be given by Joyce Reid and a offering taken. Special music and the History of the Chippewa Indians will follow.

Artifact appraisals are given for a small fee. The program is by donation, Adults $3.00 Children under 12 are free. All proceeds will go to Western Missions and to help place a Plaque on the Indian monument on Edison Parkway in Port Huron. We welcome anyone who has artifacts to show.
