Kimball Township couple bound over to Circuit Court in child's death -- Thursday, March 11 2010

(PORT HURON) -- The case against a Kimball Township father charged with the death of his 3-year old daughter has been bound over to Circuit Court in St. Clair County. 26-year old Joe Galvan has been charged with open murder, first degree child abuse and possession of a controlled substance. His 29-year old wife, Jennifer Galvan, the girls' stepmother, also appeared in court this week and was bound over to Circuit Court during her preliminary examination. The open murder charge against her was dropped and she now faces a first degree child abuse and torture charge. Authorities say Prhaze (praise) Galvan died at home on January 15th as a result of blunt-force trauma. An autopsy determined the girl's death was a homicide. Both Joe and Jennifer remain jailed.
