(BROWN CITY) -- The draft 2010-2011 municipal budget was reviewed during the Brown City Council meeting Monday night. There is a $255,000 reduction in the General Fund Budget and some of the proposed major expenses are for repaving Walter Street between Main and First, possibly sharing the cost to repave the Tri-County Bank driveway, storm drain projects on Fourth and Lincoln Streets, an overhaul of Well #4, and replacing the media in Arsenic Plant #4. The council set a public hearing for Monday, March 22nd at 7:15 p.m. regarding the proposed budget and the property tax millage rates.

In other business, council members made an amendment to the 2009-10 draft budget. A loan of $20,000 from the General Fund was put into the Sanitary Sewer Fund, which had a $16,475 deficit. According to City Manager Clint Holmes, the money will be paid back from revenue generated from the sanitary sewer fee increase.
