Investigation ends with poaching sentences -- Tuesday, March 9 2010
(ST. CLAIR COUNTY) -- A St. Clair County man has been sentenced to 30 days in jail for wildlife violations. 50-year-old Jerry Gordon of Clay Township was sentenced last week after pleading guilty to illegal possession of a lake sturgeon, illegal sale of sport-caught fish, operating unlicensed fishing charters and killing more deer than permitted. Three other Algonac men were sentenced after a three-year state investigation. Robert Brearley was fined for attempted operating of an unlicensed fishing charter, and Brian Williams was fined for attempted operation of an unlicensed charter and sale of sport-caught fish. Alan Goerke was fined for attempted taking of waterfowl over a baited area.
