Honesty pays off! -- Thursday, July 29 2010
(CROSWELL) -- It has been almost a year since Robert Fuller and his 15-year old son Graham of Croswell found a wad of old dried up money while walking along Lakeview Drive in Lexington Heights. Their honesty paid off and they are now $273 richer. Sanilac County Sheriff Garry Biniecki says the father and son contacted authorities after finding the money on August 30, 2009. Several months later, Detective Jim Johnson and Judy VanSickle of the Sandusky branch of First Michigan Bank, carefully identified the $273 in U.S. Currency. The money was never claimed and given back to the Fuller's this week. Sheriff Biniecki says that it was a pleasure to be able to return the money to the Fuller's after they did the honest thing and brought the found money forward.
