(CARSONVILLE) -- Sanilac County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred on Christmas Eve along West Chandler Street near Railroad Street in Carsonville. Sheriff's deputies say the driver of the vehicle was a 29-year old Port Sanilac area woman. She was traveling west on West Chandler Street when she lost control on the snow covered road and struck a tree. The woman was taken by ambulance to McKenzie Health System in Sandusky for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle suffered significant damage. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash and the name of the driver is not being released due to pending charges. The Carsonville Fire Department and Sanilac EMS assisted at the scene.
