(SANDUSKY) -- The Sandusky Board of Education has reduced the number of administrators in the district from four to three. The action came at Wednesday evening's meeting as the district prepares to down-size to two buildings beginning next September. The board voted not to renew the contract of High School Principal Jon Miller. Speaking on WMIC/WTGV's morning show, Superintendent Mike Carmean says Miller did a very good job over the past 9-years and he was the victim of numbers---lower enrollment, less finances, and fewer buildings.
In other action, Craig Jacobson was hired as the Varsity Football coach for the 2013 football season. Jacobson is a teacher at Yale Schools and been active in coaching football, serving as an assistant coach at a number of area high schools. The Sandusky School board also approved a preliminary application with DTE Energy to install solar panels on school property. This could be a source of income for the school district at a later date.
