(GRANT TOWNSHIP) -- Officials say the cause of the house fire that claimed the life of a 62-year old Grant Township woman on November 26 cannot be determined. St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon reports that the county's Fire Investigation Team were sent to 6655 Cline Road following the fire, but due to extensive damage to the home, the cause is not known. Fire officials say the origin of the fire was in the basement. Grant Township Fire and Rescue, along with Burtchville, Fort Gratiot and Kenockee Township Fire Departments battled the blaze during the early morning hours November 26. The victim, Constance Falk, was pronounced dead at the scene. There was also no indication of smoke detectors present in the house.
