Croswell man killed in collision with semi truck

(CROSWELL) -- Croswell Police are investigating a fatal crash that took place Thursday evening at the intersection of Seltzer Road and Melvin Street in the City of Croswell. 83-year old Croswell resident Arnold Kettlewell was a passenger in a van that was involved in a head on collision with a semi-truck and trailer. The crash was reported shortly before 6:30 p.m. Investigation showed that a semi-truck owned by Gielow Logistics of Lexington was traveling east on Seltzer Road when the driver, 51-year old Thomas Hunt of Croswell, crossed over the centerline and was stopped in the road. The westbound van, driven by 78-year old Lores Kettlewell of Croswell, also crossed the centerline and the two vehicles hit head on. Arnold Kettlewell was the passenger in the van and had to be extricated by the Croswell Fire and Rescue Jaws of Life. Both Lores and Arnold were transported to McLaren Port Huron Hospital for treatment where Arnold passed away. Lores suffered non-life threatening injuries. Hunt was taken to McKenzie Hospital in Sandusky and treated for minor injuries. Police say speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
