Lapeer and St. Clair County residents knocked offline after Tuesday storms

(AREA) -- DTE officials say a handful of Lapeer and St. Clair County residents are without power after a wave of thunderstorms swept through southeastern Michigan Tuesday evening, creating wind gusts near 60 miles per hour, knocking down trees and dumping as much as 3.6 inches of rain in some areas. Lapeer County still has around 195 customers without power and around 60 are offline in St. Clair County. Crews are working to restore power to those homes and businesses by the end of the day.
