(SANDUSKY) -- McKenzie Health System recently awarded three McKenzie Medical Staff Merit Scholarships to high school graduates Sydney Shaw of Cros-Lex Schools, Kaitlyn Darling of Marlette Schools and Monica Falls of Carsonville-Port Sanilac Schools. The scholarships are awarded annually to graduating seniors in Sanilac County entering an accredited college or university and planning to become a healthcare professional. Sydney Shaw received a $1,000 scholarship. She will attend the nursing program at the University of Detroit Mercy in the fall. Kaitlyn Darling was awarded a $500 scholarship and she will major in nursing at Saginaw Valley State University. Monica Falls also received a $500 scholarship toward her education at Saginaw Valley State, where she will study nursing. President/CEO of McKenzie Health System, Steve Barnett, says the hospital is thrilled to recognize these three future super stars of the healthcare system for the achievements and is proud to contribute to their higher education.
