(SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP) -- The Huron County mother charged with involuntary manslaughter and second degree child abuse following the death of her 23-month old son will appear in court Monday, December 10, as her hearing reconvenes. 29-year old Jennifer Lynn Emerick was scheduled to be arraigned on the charges during a circuit court arraignment Monday, but her attorney was unavailable. A motion was filed to waive arraignment and her pretrial conference will be held on the 10th to determine jury trial dates. Emerick had originally faced a second degree murder charge in the case. Officials say 23-month-old Donavin Cochrane died December 29, 2011, just days before his 2nd birthday. Results from toxicology tests took several months and a pathologist classified the death as a homicide. Emerick remains free on bond.
