(TUSCOLA COUNTY) -- Tuscola County Sheriff's deputies say a 51-year old Fremont Township woman is expected to recover after a shotgun went off, striking her in the face. The incident was reported around 10 a.m. Monday at a residence on Waterman Road. Deputies learned that a family dispute had taken place and the victim was able to tell officers that she had taken the shotgun out to make a point. The woman apparently slammed the butt end of the shotgun on the floor and the gun discharged, striking her in the face. She was flight cared to St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw. The incident remains under investigation.
