(BAD AXE) -- A 23-year old Port Hope man was injured after driving his pickup truck into the side of a house in Bad Axe Saturday afternoon. Bad Axe Police say the crash took place just before 5 p.m. at 305 S. Port Crescent Street. Upon arrival, officers found the pickup truck's rear wheels resting on the foundation and the front wheels on the basement floor. The driver was pinned inside and found unresponsive. The occupants of the house were not hurt. The Bad Axe Fire Department was sent to the scene to disconnect the electricity and gas from the home. The driver of the pickup, Robert Bender, was then extricated from the vehicle and transported to Huron Medical Center and later transferred to Saginaw for further treatment. The extent of his injuries in unknown. Authorities say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
