(SANDUSKY) -- The Sandusky School Board Wednesday night approved the proposed 2014-2015 budgets. Superintendent Michael Carmean says projected revenues are at $8,751,179 with projected expenditures at $8,652,182 showing an estimated end of year fund balance of $724,516. The 2014-2015 budget includes two 32-station Chrome Book computer labs and a 32-station laptop computer lab for the elementary school. It also includes funding to lease two new propane school buses and sets aside $50,000 for elementary reading curriculum upgrades.
In other business, the Sandusky School Board accepted the retirement of high school English teacher Susan Meissner. Hired by the board Wednesday night was Kaylie Gaedcke and Erin Carlson as Jr./Sr. high school English teachers. Part-time Special Education teacher Michael Sanderson was put on layoff status pending a recall if the number of student warrant. Administrator contracts for Elementary Principal Adam Lulis and Jr./Sr. High School Principal Steve Carlson through June 30, 2017.
Next school year the price of a student lunch will increase by 15 cents and an adult lunch will increase by 20 cent.
The board also approved the purchase of 50 iPads for the Sandusky district in an amount not to exceed $18,950.
