Owendale man injured in collision with semi

(OLIVER TOWNSHIP) -- Huron County Sheriff's deputies say an 18-year-old Owendale man suffered life-threatening injuries in a collision with a semi truck Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Gagetown and Stein Roads. An investigation showed that Timothy Hurley was traveling south on Gagetown Road just before 5 p.m. when he failed to stop at the intersection and was hit by a semi truck driven by 61-year old Randall Shelter of Cass City. Hurley was transported to Scheurer Hospital and later air lifted to a Flint area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Shelter was taken to Hills and Dales General Hospital in Cass City by a private vehicle. Pigeon Police and the Winsor and Oliver Township Fire Departments assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
