Deckerville Hospital Staff Attends Comprehensive Advanced Life Support Training

(AREA) -- Seven employees of Deckerville Community Hospital, including six Registered Nurses--Ashley Stolicker, Maria Szydlo, Kay Cutcher, Kathy Aumann, Sarah McCready, and Dana Gonzalez, along with Physician's Assistant Lori Nugent, attended Comprehensive Advanced Life Support training in Bad Axe June4-6. CALS is a team based educational program deliberately designed for the emergency training needs of rural healthcare teams and is specifically geared towards rural hospitals where resources such as personnel and equipment are more constrained. The 23-hours of training provided the staff with hands on practice with rural world medical emergencies including pediatric and adult resuscitation, trauma and labor and delivery emergencies.
