(WALES TOWNSHIP) -- The driver of a Chrysler minivan was injured early Wednesday morning when the vehicle struck a Yale school bus. St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon says the school bus was turning around at Wales Center and Sparling Roads just before 6:30 a.m., when it pulled into the path of the minivan, driven by a 37-year old Avoca woman. Deputies say the woman was unable to avoid a collision and struck the bus, which had three children on board. The children were picked up at the scene by their parents and the bus driver was not injured. The Avoca woman was transported to Port Huron Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Authorities say neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the crash.
