(SANDUSKY) -- The Sandusky City Council met Monday night and approved a grant match to fund additions and improvements to the Sandusky City Airport. The federal grant for $277,087 calls for a 5 % match locally. Council members unanimously moved to fund the $11,007 match, with money coming from the city's fund balance. The funds will pay for the construction of a new access road and parking lot at the airport, with construction expected to begin in July. Council members also approved an extension on Sandusky's medical marijuana moratorium. The moratorium bans the sale of medical marijuana by any individual or business in the city. In other business, City Manager Dave Faber informed the council that crews have started to pick up the fallen tree branches from last winter's ice storm. The Sandusky City Council meets again on Monday, April 21st at 5:30 p.m.
