(TUSCOLA COUNTY) -- Tuscola County Sheriff's deputies say a fuel truck hauling ethanol crashed and exploded on Vassar Road near Wilder early Wednesday morning, killing one person. Richville Fire Chief Eric Brown says the truck was carrying about 13,000 gallons of fuel sending flames 150 to 200 feet into the air. Brown says firefighters arrived and assessed the environmental impact of putting out the blaze, making the decision to let it burn out. Authorities say a body was found in the cab of the truck. The crash happened after 3 a.m. No other information has been released at this time. Vassar Road between M-46 and M-81 is expected to be closed for several hours as the investigation and cleanup efforts take place. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
