Marlette Schools will make decision on make-up snow days in April

(MARLETTE) -- Marlette High School Principal Kyle Wood informed the school board last week that the district will make a final decision on make-up snow days for Marlette students and staff after April 1. Marlette's February count, which is 10% of their state aid, was down at both schools as anticipated. Principal Wood stated that the district has received payment from the recent sale of six school busses. He also informed the board that there is a county wide audit taking place of the McKinney Vento Act, which will look at the services offered by the school, as well as the community, for homeless students in the district. In other business, Elementary Principal Jason Vislosky asked for support from area farmers for the Rural Education Grant. Farmers can recommend their local school district for up to a $25,000 grant that would be used in various areas of education. Marlette is seeking to strengthen their math curriculum.
