Port Huron sentenced to up to 50-years in deaths of two men

(PORT HURON) -- 30-year old Lisa Bergman was sentenced to up to 50-years in prison Friday morning after being convicted of killing two men while driving under the influence of prescription pills in St. Clair County. The Port Huron woman was found guilty last month on several charges including two counts of second-degree murder in the July 20 crash in Kimball Township that killed 19-year old Russell Ward and 20-year old Koby Raymo. Witnesses say that Bergman's vehicle crossed the centerline along Lapeer Road, causing the collision. Throughout the trial, witnesses testified to seven prior incidents where Bergman had police contact due to alleged drugged driving. Those cases were on hold due to a backlog of test results in the Michigan State Police Crime Lab.
