Officers seize over 40 pounds of marijuana after traffic stop

(ST. CLAIR COUNTY) -- A routine traffic stop resulted in the seizure of 25 pounds of marijuana and a drug raid Sunday night in Goodells. St. Clair County Sheriff's deputies made the stop at Card Road and Palms Road around 9 p.m. One of the officers detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and the driver was unable to produce a drivers license. The 42-year old Goodells man was taken into custody after deputies located 25 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle. Further investigation led the St. Clair County Drug Task Force to the suspect's home in the 1100 block of Parks Road, where officers seized an additional 21 pounds of marijuana, scales, 36 long guns, two hand guns and night vision. The Goodells man remains jailed on numerous charges including habitual offender, felony firearms, and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
