(AREA) -- The Human Development Commission will hold their annual Walk For Warmth event this Saturday, February 22 with simultaneous walks in Huron, Sanilac, Lapeer and Tuscola counties. Walk For Warmth raises money for individuals or families in desperate need of assistance with heat and utility bills during the winter months. Walks will take place in Huron County starting at the Wilcox Park Community Center in Bad Axe, Lapeer County Courthouse in Lapeer County, in Sanilac County at the Human Development Commission Adult Day Services Center in Sandusky, and in Tuscola County at the LeeRoy Clark Building/Caro Dining Center in Caro. Registration at each location begins at 9 a.m. and the walk starts at 9:30 a.m. Last year, around $15,000 was raised in Sanilac County to help out local families with heating bill assistance.
