(SANDUSKY) -- Sara Ylen has been sentenced to 1-year in jail with credit for 41 days served after accepting thousands of dollars from sympathetic supporters who believed she had cancer. The 38-year old Lexington woman was also treated by a hospice service for 2-years and has been ordered to pay over $120,000 in restitution. Police say that none of the doctors named by Ylen had ever diagnosed her with cancer. Ylen plead no contest last month to obtaining more than $20,000 in services because of false pretenses and healthcare fraud. Her no contest plea is not an admission of guilt, but was treated as such at sentencing Wednesday morning in Sanilac County Circuit Court. In a separate case, Ylen is serving a minimum 4-year sentence for falsely accusing two men of rape. A St. Clair County jury convicted Ylen of filing a false report of rape and tampering with evidence in early December. The 41 days credit served stems from the St. Clair County case and Ylen will serve the time concurrently.
