(CHINA TOWNSHIP) -- Human remains were discovered Thursday afternoon on Allington Road and Fred Moore Highway in St. Clair County's China Township. Sheriff Tim Donnellon says a citizen called in a suspicious incident around 4 p.m. and when deputies arrived they found body parts inside garbage bags along the roadways. Another witness informed deputies that they observed a mid-1990's SUV type vehicle in the area, dumping what were believed to be garbage bags. The vehicle is believed to be white or gray in color, possibly a GMC Jimmy or Chevrolet Trailblazer. The driver was described as a heavy set, middle aged white female. An autopsy is planned on the remains, which are believed to be of a white male. Another citizen tip has lead authorities to more evidence that could be linked to the case. Deputies were sent to the entrance ramp to westbound I-94 from Fred Moore Highway shortly before 5 a.m. Friday and found another bag containing clothing and charred paperwork. Sheriff Donnellon says his department is treating this incident as a homicide. The Michigan State Police Crime Lab team from Sterling Heights is assisting Detectives in the investigation.
