U.S. car sales shift between December 2012 and December 2013

(DETROIT) -- U.S. auto sales of light vehicles in December 2013 indicated an increase in sales of .3% of the U.S. automobile companies.

GM sold 230,157 with a decrease of 6.3% from 2012
Ford sold 216,592 with an increase of 1.7% from 2012
Toyota sold 190,843 with a decrease of 1.7% from 2012
Honda sold 135,255 with an increase of 1.9% from 2012
Chrysler sold 161,007 with an increase of 5.7% from 2012
Hyundai sold 63,005 with an increase of 6.0% from 2012
Nissan sold 109,758 with an increase of 10.5% from 2012

The Detroit Big Three had 44.7% of all car sales in December 2013. Compared total for 2013 with 2012 total sales through December, the increase was 7.6% more vehicles sold. The prediction for 2013 is an increase for all domestic automakers for a total of 15.4 million vehicles. The actual total sales number was 15,600,199 vehicles.
