(AREA) -- A local business that has operated for over 100-years in Sanilac County has been forced to close their doors due the current economic climate. Moore & Carter Lumber in Sandusky and Croswell closed last Friday. The family-owned business was established in 1904. Around 12 people were employed at the lumber yard in Sandusky on North Elk Street and at the Croswell location on E. Peck Road. It is still unknown if the company will hold a going out of business sale or what will become of the two properties.
