Congresswoman Candice Miller was at the Sanilac County Courthouse Tuesday to honor longtime Sanilac County Clerk Linda Kozfkay, who retired in December after 23 years in the position. Congresswoman Miller presented Kozfkay with a framed certificate honoring her years of service during the Board of Commissioners meeting. She says Kozfkay was widely respected not just in Sanilac County, but throughout the state. "It really is all about public service--somebody that has a passion and a commitment, and Linda, having been the Sanilac County clerk for so many years, certainly was a very vivid demonstration of that." Kozfkay began her career in Sanilac County as chief deputy county clerk in 1981 before being appointed to the position of county clerk in December of 1990. She says that it's been a pleasure to serve the citizens of the county and to work with elected officials over the years.
