(LAPEER) -- State Representative Kevin Daley has announced his candidacy for the Michigan State Senate. He will be running in the 31st Senate district which includes Lapeer, Bay and Tuscola counties. Daley is currently serving his 6th year in the Michigan House of Representatives where he serves as the chair of the House Agriculture Committee and also serves on the Local Government, Transportation and Infrastructure, and Education Committees. During his time in the legislature he has worked diligently on legislation to help veterans, grow agriculture in Michigan, improve our roads, and promote organ donation in our state. Born and raised in Lapeer County's Arcadia Township, Daley owns and operates a 240-acre 5th generation centennial farm founded by his family in 1881. Community and public service have always been part of Kevin Daley's life. Prior to being elected to the House of Representatives in 2008, he served 24-years as an elected official in Arcadia Township as a Trustee, Treasurer, and Township Supervisor. He also has held numerous leadership positions with Tri-County Michigan Milk Producers, Farm Bureau and Lapeer County Agriculture Preservation Board. Kevin and his wife Debbie have been married for 36-years and they have raised three children.
