(DECKERVILLE) -- The 78th Annual Sanilac County Dairy Banquet is happening Saturday, January 18 at the MI-Dahs-Well Banquet Hall in Deckerville. The banquet held each year celebrates the accomplishments of one of Sanilac County's most important industries, the dairy industry. This year's guest speaker will be Melissa Elischer, the new Michigan State University Extension Educator in charge of the 4-H dairy youth program in Michigan. The winner of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award will also be announced. The award recognizes dairy producers who have given a lifetime of promoting and producing for the Sanilac County dairy industry. The doors will open at 7 p.m. Saturday, January 18. Tickets are available at the Sanilac County Michigan State University Extension Office at 37 Austin Street in Sandusky or from a dairy banquet committee member. Tickets are $12 per person, $6 for children 10 and under in advance or $15 per person at the door.
