Undercover drug buys in Huron County lead to arrests

(HURON COUNTY) -- Huron County Sheriff's deputies arrested two men last weekend during two separate marijuana buys. The first buy was the result of a lengthy investigation and lead to the search of an apartment Saturday at the Hallock Apartments in Caseville. Deputies seized nearly $400 in cash, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cell phones. A second warrant was served early Sunday morning at a residence on Main Street in Bay Port. A safe containing nearly ten ounces of marijuana, packaging materials, a computer, drug paraphernalia, and unknown pills were seized. The marijuana collected from both locations had a street value of $2,000. 25-year old Francis Phelps IV of Bay Port was arrested and arraigned on drug related charges. He was released on a $20,000, 10% cash bond. Late Sunday, deputies arrested a 22-year old Ubly man for selling marijuana in Bingham Township to an undercover officer. Joshua Tyll was stopped on his ATV along Huron Line Road just before 5 p.m. During the arrest, deputies seized the Polaris ATV and cash.
