(FREMONT TOWNSHIP) -- Sanilac County Sheriff deputies continue to investigate a two-vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday morning around 11:30 a.m. in Sanilac County's Fremont Township. Police say a pickup driven by 72-year-old Clark Murray from Melvin was traveling east on Gardner Line Road when he failed to stop at the intersection of Gardner Line and Bricker Roads, colliding with a car driven by 46-year-old Timothy Bennet from Fort Gratiot. The Elk Township Fire and Rescue Department was called to the scene and used their Jaws of Life to free Bennet who was trapped inside his vehicle. Both drivers were treated at the scene by Croswell EMS then transported to Port Huron area hospitals for further treatment. The Sanilac County Sheriff's Accident Investigation Team says alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
